Supreme! That way Lewis Hamilton took the world title in Formula 1 this year. A seventh individual title for him. A record he now shares with former German driver Michael Schumacher.
At the same time, Mercedes again took the highest title as a Formula 1 racing team. Hamilton did that together with his Finnish team-mate Valtteri Bottas, although Lewis already collected more points individually than the team that finished second, Red Bull racing. A fact that once again underlines the hegemony of Hamilton and Mercedes in 2020.
Despite the fact that Hamilton won his first World Cup title in 2008 with McLaren, his seat in the Mercedes has proven to be worth gold. Already a year after his transition to the German car brand in 2013, Lewis started collecting world titles. His winning streak was interrupted only once by his German teammate Nico Rosberg, in 2016.
Hamilton took his seventh title at the chaotic but spectacular Turkish GP on November 15, 2020. A historic moment because he did something that no one thought possible before; equal Schumacher's seven Formula 1 titles.
In addition, many had hoped that someone else would take the title in 2020. Our own Max Verstappen in front of course. And despite the fact that he regularly managed to place himself between the two Mercedes drivers, he could not break the superiority of that team.
Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes eventually deservedly become world champions again. A super talent in an extremely ingenious machine. No wonder that Minichamps has the winning race car "molded" in miniature for the true Formula 1 fan.
The Minichamps scale model Mercedes GP Turkey 2020 (1:18) is currently still in the making, but can already be ordered. A historic piece of automotive technology that you can soon hold in your palm. A model that already counts as a collector's item and which is definitely going to get a run.
